Written by Selena DiGiovanni

Since 2009 Frédérique Constant, a world renowned Swiss watchmaker, has been involved with heart-related charities. They have supported the “Hearts of Children” campaign in recent years, and this past September they generously donated $50,000 to the World Heart Federation.

The Swiss watchmaker has now announced that they will be teaming up with Spanish actress and model Inés Sastre. Sastre is known for her acting and modeling career, though she has also done extensive charity work with UNICEF. Some of her films include El Dorado, Vidocq, and her most famous, The Lost City.

This collaboration will involve Frédérique Constant producing a new line of watches specifically for this charity called the Ladies World Heart Federation Automatic Collection. Sastre will be the ambassador for Frédérique Constant’s new heart health related collections over the next two years.

This line will feature four new timepieces with Frédérique Constant’s classic FC-310 automatic winding movements. The “heartbeat” of these beautiful pieces can be seen through a double heart aperture located at the 12 o’clock position. The mother-of-pearl dial is studded with diamonds, and set into a feminine 34mm round case. Two of the four models will feature a stainless steel case, while the other two models will feature a rose gold plated stainless steel case. There are a variety of bands available, including genuine alligator and satin straps in numerous colors, and also in metal bracelets. These straps also feature an Easy Release system, which allows women the ability to easily change the strap and customize their wristwatch endlessly.

100 of these feminine pieces will be created specifically for the campaign, and will be disbursed through the World Heart Federation in specially designed heart boxes. To learn more, visit

Les Heures Fabuleuses de Cartier

Written by Selena DiGiovanni

Every year, the Salon International De La Horlogerie (SIHH), draws in some of the finest watchmakers in the world. This year, luxury watchmaker Cartier is already making waves with their new SIHH 2013 collection. The line is being called Les Heures Fabuleuses de Cartier Collection, and features timepieces inspired by nature and encrusted in precious gems.

The first of this new line is the Cartier Panthére Divine Watch. This timepiece features offset minute and hour hand on a black brass dial with a guilloche design. This dial serves as a phenomenal backdrop for the stunning panther which is the star of this piece. The panther and case are both made of 18-carat white gold plated with rhodium set with brilliant-cut diamonds. Additionally, the panther features black enamel spots and detailing.

Another timepiece from this line which is receiving a lot of attention is the Cartier Peacock Motif Watch. The case and main body of the peacock on this piece are also made of 18-carat white gold plated with rhodium. Set into the case and peacock form are brilliant cut diamonds and a single sapphire which serves as the peacock’s eye. Nestled amongst the diamonds which cover this timepiece are two roses made of ruby crystal with carved nephrite jade leaves. In addition to being a beautiful timepiece, this watch can also double as a brooch.

The Cartier Peacock Motif Watch is not the only timepiece in this collection that can double as a piece of jewelry. Also included in this new line is the Cartier Tortue Secret Watch. The timepiece is designed to look like a tortoise, with a shell that swings to cover and reveal the time display beneath. The case is once more made of rhodium-plated 18-carat white gold, and is set with brilliant cut diamonds. The eyes of the tortoise are created with two emeralds. Unlike those previously mentioned, the  Cartier Tortue Secret Watch features minute and hour hands which are centered on a silvered flinqué dial which has a translucent lacquer.

The timepieces crafted for this line are incredibly beautiful, and incredibly versatile. Decadent designs and precious stones truly make these art pieces worth investing in.

Chanel 2013-2014 Winter-Fall Show sends a Fashion Shoutout that’s Terrestrial

Written by Chaz Nash

Chanel 2013/2014 Winter-Fall Fashion Show held at the palatial Grand Palais – Paris may have been on planet Earth, however, the fashions presented at the fashion show were on the verge of being out of this galaxy!

Karl Lagerfeld reached deep within his creative cachet and went “East Side” of the global couture spectrum to create what may be defined as one of Chanel’s most terrestrial fashions collection to encompass the globe.

Models adorned in an incorporation of Asian inspired and an introspective of Chanel’s global designs walked the circumference of a circular runway displaying superimposed graphics of the continents. And cleverly staged in the center of this phenomenal runway was a ginormous rotating globe that marked over 300 of the brand’s stores as well as its centennial echelon in haute couture.

Blue Coat and Black Textile Coat

Karl Lagerfeld fashion designs spoke mystical Chanel Francais in ooh la la colors of silver, steel, grey, classic black, blue, baby pink and white, all of which were consummated in a varage of textiles tailored in tweed coats and kilts, double-length coats with downward zippers, pleated short skirts and asymmetrical knit skirts with vibrant movements and knit sweaters adorned with elaborate knit linked chains, all of which were meticulously accessorized with black and silver chain pendants and bracelets, exquisite bags, low heeled boots cladded with Chanel signature chains and/or shoes worn with white/black knit, leather or patent leather leggings. Mercy and merci!

Chanel Peek-a-boo Coat     Chanel Baby Pink Coat & Skirt

Lagerfeld said of the 2013 Fall-Winter Chanel designs, “The main theme of the collection is from black to grey, colors of shadows and very mysterious. I thought for this season we are going to make a proposition in a completely different direction, what is still one hundred percent Chanel.” Indeed, a different direction that is absolutely amazing and establishes a new signature for the Chanel brand.

Chanel10     Chanel Tweed Kilt

This amazing collection has a retro edginess that is modern and alluringly extraterrestrial, yet possesses Chanel’s classic jeux de vie (joy of living) fashion flavor. Chanel has certainly made an interplanetary shout out with this collection. In the mean time, we have to sit on edge to anticipate the timepiece collection that will complement this amazing collection!

Michael Kors Double-Wrap Runway Watches are Worth a Double-Take

Michael Kors continues to design a diverse portfolio of watches that appeal to women’s eclectic sense of style and fashion. And Kors’ latest Double-Wrap Runway watch definitely has the ladies doing a double take.

Michael Kors Double-Wrap Runway watches captures attention both on and off the runway with bold gold tone watch cases, shimmering dials and vibrant colored leather straps.

Kors designed the Double-Wrap watches with a round 42 mm golden stainless steel case and bezel. The cases are emphasized by an iridescent golden dial that is accentuated with golden time stops as well as hour/minute and second hands.  The dials are understated but the case diameter allows it to make a huge statement in presentation. The long hour stops makes time very readable along with its sword-like hour/minute hands and a delicate second hand which has been cleverly designed to resemble an arrow tail. It is also water resistant up to 5 ATM.

However, the piece-de-resistance of the Double-Wrap watches is its narrow exotic snake skin embossed leather straps (select models), which can be wrapped around the wrist twice making it not only an elegant timepiece, but also a fashionable bracelet-style accessory. Kors is essentially double wrapping ladies’ wrists in his fashionable ‘Runway Love’.

Michael Kors Double-Wrap Runway watches featured below are:

Kors Golden Green Double-Wrap watch

Mid-Size Green/Golden (Style No. MK2287)

MK Navy Double-Wrap watch

Mid-Size Navy  (Style No. MK2286)

MK Golden Horn Double-Wrap Watch

Mid-Size Golden/Horn (tan) (Style No. MK2256)

Michael Kors Double-Wrap Runway watches are so hot right now they are literally selling out! Do not hesitate to purchase one because the Navy watch may no longer be available. You definitely don’t want to hit the snooze on this watch. And that is a wrap on this watch or more like a double-wrap.

Titan Black & FC Chelsea Create Custom Rolex Daytona Watch

If you are a fan of the Chelsea Football Club, you’ll love the new Titan Black Rolex Daytona custom made for the team. Titan Black and Chelsea FC spent a long time coming up with the perfect Rolex watch. It was created to celebrate the team’s May 2012 Champion League Win in Munich as well as their current UEFA Champion Title.

While not many details of the Rolex Daytona Chelsea FC have been released, we know that it showcases the team’s notorious color of blue. There are three small logo sections within the watch: one of white and blue stars at 9 o’clock, the team’s logo at 6 o’clock and the logo of the UEFA Champion League at 3 o’clock. The simplicity of these small logos and the colors are what really make the watch pop. The face of the watch is white, with the blue in the logos and all watch hands. The minute and hour hands have small cut outs in them. The case and band of the watch are steel colored with a diamond-like coating to make it gleam.custom_titan_black_chelsea_fc_rolex_daytona_marks_london_clubs_first_ever_win_of_uefa_champions_league_3bux2

The Rolex Daytona Chelsea FC should carry the same mechanical specs of other watches in the Rolex Daytona line. This includes beautiful touches like the laser engraved numbers on the bezel and crystal glass protecting the face. The watch has a flip lock bracelet and is water resistant up to 100 meters. It is also an automatic movement so the players won’t have much to think about other than keeping their schedules.

It took Titan Black and Chelsea FC almost a year to design the perfect watch together. It is no doubt now adorning the wrists of everyone on the team, including their coach and board members. Chelsea FC has had a fantastic year and becoming London’s first team to win the Champion League is definitely a reason to celebrate. Titan Black has created a piece that will help spread unity on the team with their Rolex Daytona Chelsea FC.

25th Anniversary of Chanel’s watch line

Written by Selena DiGiovanni

In 1987, Chanel produced it’s first line of watches. The line was called Premiére, and was an instant classic. And now, 25 years later, Chanel is celebrating their Premiére line with something special.

After tweaking and creating new designs, Chanel has decided to reproduce their original Premiére line as it was in 1987. The watch will feature the same geometric face which was inspired by the Place Vendôme in Paris, where Coco Chanel once lived. It will also feature the same iconic chain bracelet band.

However, there will be some minor changes to the original design. The case will now be 28mm instead of the original 26mm, making the watch slightly bolder. Women will now also have the ability to adjust the chain at home, rather than going to a boutique.

In addition, there will also be several watches inspired by the original Premiére line included in this collection. These watches will have a similar face, but will feature updated bands. One of these new watches features a long band which is wrapped around the wrist several times. Others will feature a similar chain strap, but will have additional leather or rubber threaded through the chains.

These delicate and feminine watches will soon be available in a variety of styles and prices.  Beginning in April they will be available at Chanel boutiques for between $4,300 to $28,500.

Another addition to the Premiére line is Chanel’s Flying Tourbillion. The Flying Tourbillion resembles a Premiére watch, but instead of the unmarked face, it will feature a stylized camellia which spins as the seconds pass. Chanel will unveil their new Flying Tourbillion watch as part of the reinvented Premiére line this April at Baselworld 2013.

New Alacria Diva Bamboo Watch by Carl F. Bucherer

Written by Evan Gabriel

In the 1880s, entrepreneur Carl Friedrich Bucherer pursued his dream of producing top-end timepieces meant to leave a mark in history. With the new version of the Alacria Diva watch, the Bucherer company continues to raise industry standards by introducing the Alacria Diva Bamboo.

Produced with precision by stonecutters in workshops in Lengnau, Switzerland, the Alacria Diva Bamboo replicates the very beauty and exoticism associated with bamboo in many Eastern cultures. In Japan, for example, bamboo represents purity while in India the tree symbolizes friendship.

The limited edition Alacria Diva Bamboo is aimed at capturing the essence of individuality; made for women, this slender timepiece is decorated with 83 orange and black baguette-cut sapphires that radiates with beauty.

While the outer case is adorned with 239 black sapphires, it also contains 90 orange and black baguette-cut sapphires to elegantly accent the lighter orange strap, which is made of top quality Louisiana alligator skin.

Although bamboo was not used in the production of these watches, there is a high premium for buyers because in addition to the large orange sapphire encrusted into the crown, each model will have a custom-made dial.

Only 25 models of this limited edition watch are being released. The delicate care that goes in to creating each model’s dial requires a high standard of dedication from the watchmakers.

Powered by quartz movement, the watch sits in a 31. 35 mm x 45 mm case. In addition, these elegant timepieces are water resistant up to 30 meters.

Each of the Alacria Diva Bamboo watches contain the care and quality that Carl Friedrich Bucherer set out for when he opened his first watch store in 1888, and which his family continues to strive for even after winning the “Best Chronograph” award at the “Middle East Premier Awards for Watches, Jewellery and Pens,” in 2012.

From Divers to Dolphins

The bold tribute to disappeared Baiji dolphins.
The bold tribute to disappeared Baiji dolphins from Prometheus Watches.

Created tough and built to last, the Prometheus Baiji Diver Watch takes on a new level of responsibility and proves the brand’s success in continuing to reach new “depths” in quality.

Along with the “come to conquer” vibe found in many watches favored by those braving the unknown deep, there is a sentimental tribute at the heart of this diving watch.  The Baiji dophin was a freshwater dolphin formerly found in the Yangtze River in China.  However, due to man’s pollution, this creature is now extinct.  Saluting this animal’s memory in a quality diving watch seems to send the message that man can still engage in all his favorite water related activities, but the well-being of his fellow creatures must not be ignored.

There are several different versions of this watch, featuring either a deep black, creamy white or vibrant orange face, changing the style just enough to personalize the particular feel of your own timepiece.  Either color can be accompanied by a stainless steel or Black PVD coating.  The saphire glass coating strengthens the watch for wherever you take it.  Even down to 300 meters under water, where the watch reaches its maximum resistance point, this piece shines with possibilities.  Well, and with the 12 Swiss made tritium tubes it contains.  These tubes use innovative technology to emit light even in total darkness scenarios.  It does not even require an initial charge like some lesser watch models, allowing full knowledge of time no matter how dark one’s surroundings are.

Electing to use a highly proven movement designed by Seagull, Prometheus watches first had the piece thoroughly tested by independent parties before the ST2130 became the driving force of the timepiece.  This demonstrates just one more dedicated step this luxury brand has taken to improve overall quality in their watches, and to reinforce the positive message put forward by this particular one.

The simple final touch in this celebration of diving, quality timepieces and the Baiji dolphin, is the laser engraved shape of that same disappeared dolphin, pledging their species to memory and to at least one group of loyal sympathizers.

An engraving of the Baiji dolphin on the watch's case back commemorates the extinct species.

Down to the depths or out on the town, this fine watch will serve you well wherever you go, and always in exceptional style.

Romain Jerome Makes Watch for Sci-Fi’s

Romain Jerome has created a watch that will make any sci-fi lover squeal with delight. Named the “Spacecraft,” this watch will make you think Star Wars. Specifically Darth Vader. Spacecraft is a watch that screams vintage futuristic all at once, which is very hard to accomplish.

Spacecraft is a titanium watch that is coated with PVD.  It focuses on hard angles and flat lines to give it that space – feel. It is run with a self-winding movement that has so many different motions to it, it has yet to been seen. With retrograde hours, the watch moves laterally, linearly and even jumps! Why does it need so many movements? Because of the way the watch is ready. Spacecraft is not going to be a watch for someone who wants to-the-second accurate time. Jerome notes this himself. It is meant for style.

To tell the time on Spacecraft, you must first look at the side of the watch where the hours are located. The correct hour will be red, caused by a spring-driven carriage. Then go to the watch face where the minutes are located. It may be a little hectic, but once you get the hang of it, you won’t think twice about reading the watch. The entire watch was hand pieced and tied together with a black mesh strap.

If you are a fan of unique watches, or a Star Wars, space lover, Spacecraft is definitely the watch for you. It is going to be an extremely rare watch, however, with only ninety-nine created. The cost definitely mirrors the high craftsmanship at $33,400. But if you can afford it, this will be a piece everyone will constantly talk about. Tell time with style.
