Nicole Kidman Wears Omega Watches

Nicole Kidman, Omega Watch Ambassador

Omega watches have long been admired by me.  Omega has distinguished themselves as a solid, high-quality watchmaker, and I appreciate their elegant style as well as their craftsmanship.  Visit the Omega website and you’ll find that I’m not the only fan.  They have high profile Ambassadors, such as George Clooney, Michael Phelps, and Nicole Kidman.

Nicole has been an Omega watch Ambassador since 2005 and proudly wears the Seamaster Planet Ocean.  This beautiful women’s watch comes in either white or black leather strap, with our without chronographic function.  My favorite is the steel yellow-gold watch, with a white leather bracelet.  Gorgeous!

The signature Omega watch logo is displayed in yellow-gold along with the hands and hour/minute arms.  This watch is a Chronometer with a unidirectional rotating bezel.  The dial is embellished with sparkling diamonds that bring life to this watch.  The snow-white crocodile embossed leather bracelet looks amazing with the polished silver and gold-tone accents.

Omega’s Seamaster Planet Ocean has the classic Omega watch appeal, with a bit of flare. Of course, all of the innovation and quality Swiss watchmaking have gone into this watch, as well.  In this case, beauty and functionality compete.  Great choice, for Nicole…or you.

Victorinox Swiss Army Joins Forces With Susan G. Komen

Victorinox Swiss Army Susan G. Komen Watch

At Victorinox Swiss Army, the buzz is not just about knives and watches…today it’s about charity, as well.  The company is partnering up with the world’s biggest breast cancer organization, Susan G. Komen, joining them in their race for a cure.

Victorinox has created a specially designed women’s timepiece, in honor of the fight to find a cure for breast cancer.  10% of the proceeds from this watch will go directly to the Susan G. Komen organization, and a total of at least $50,000 has been promised from the sale.

The Susan G. Komen foundation is dedicated to keeping this fight alive and maintaining energy behind the efforts to find a cure for breast cancer.  Using creative and innovative ways to gain attention to this cause has been the success of the foundation, and Victorinox Swiss Army is a proud participant.

The special edition timepiece is crafted from highly polished stainless-steel.  It has a white face with silver accents, and bears the pink ribbon logo at the 6 o’clock mark.  It will come packaged with a pink silver polishing cloth, a pink ribbon and a certificate of authenticity.  The Victorinox Swiss Army Susan G. Komen for the cure special edition timepiece will be available through the end of May 2010, so hurry.  This is a great watch, at a great price…for a phenomenal cause.

Victorinox Watches Blend Practicality and Beauty

Victorinox Woman's Watch is elegant

When I mention Victorinox Swiss Army Watch, you might not immediately think feminine or elegant.  Of course, Victorinox is well known for quality and reliability.  The official watch maker for the Swiss Army has gained a, well-deserved reputation for constructing excellent timepieces.

The original designs, like the 241369 Officer’s Mecha and the 24695 Infantry mechanical self-winding watch are still popular.  The dark leather strap, stainless-steel case, and black dial featuring the red Victorinox logo, make up the classic Swiss Army Watch.

There is no denying the history and heritage behind this company.  The Victorinox label has meant quality craftsmanship since their beginning.  I mean, these are serious watches, crafted with performance and practicality in mind, but Victorinox recognizes that you don’t have to give up quality to add luxury.

With the addition of their ladies watches, Victorinox has, once again demonstrated their innovative roots.  The Chrono Classic Lady is a beautiful and highly functional timepiece.  The 241257 Chrono Classic Lady is all Swiss quartz movement, with a stainless-steel case.  The face is genuine mother-of-pearl and comes in soft shades of white, powder blue, and pale pink.  The strap on the Victorinox Chrono Classic Lady is made from super-soft white lamb leather that feels supple on your wrist.  This watch is even offered in a diamond version!  Talk about feminine and elegant, this watch has all of that, and more.  Everything that Victorinox stands for has been put into this watch.

So ladies, don’t be scared off by the Swiss Army label.  Check out their exceptional line of woman’s watches today.  They are like the perfect marriage of technology and style.

Michele Watches, Fun And Funky

Michele watches in vibrant colors

Michele Watches new, 2010 Tropical Paradise line puts the fun back into buying a watch.  The limited edition timepieces are all girl…fusia, flirty, and shimmering.  Of course, the line also comes in brilliant turquoise and canary yellow, for those who prefer something other than the, stereotypical pink…but that’s not me.

The pink version is appropriately named, Tropical Paradise Fish.  The face is decorated with a scene from under-the-sea, gone Technicolor.  A total of fifty-six diamonds on the face and dial of this watch, light it up and serve to accent the brightly colored underwater scenery.  The bracelet is made of brightly colored alligator and is interchangeable with other Michele straps.

If you happen to be more into turtles, I recommend the Sea Turtle version with turquoise alligator strap and featuring diamond embellished turtles, crawling from the sand, back into the sea. The combination of hues in this creation, truly remind you of the ocean.  The blues and greens, paired with the tan of the sand, produce a lovely effect.

And finally, if you’ve gone completely bananas…there is always the Tropical Paradise Monkey.  This watch highlights a jungle scene, with a playful monkey searching for bananas.  It’s fun and the golden-yellow alligator strap allows you to wear this watch with gold or silver jewelry.

The entire line is priced around $1100.00 and any of these watches would make an interesting statement.  C’mon, step out of the box and show your jovial side.  These watches are well-made, eclectic, and beautiful, not to mention…they just plain make you feel good.

Movado Offers Timeless Style

Movado watches define style

Back in 1881, when 19 year old Achille Ditesheim founded Movado, I wonder if he had the vision of what this company would become.  From his small village in Switzerland, is it possible he had could imagine the 100 patents and the 200 International awards that would be part of the Movado legacy…or was he, simply following his passion?

Design, innovation, and quality are keywords when thinking of Movado.  Creating many of the most sought-after timepieces has made Movado famous.  The company didn’t stop with their dedication to beautiful design, there was enormous attention paid to functionality and comfort.  In 1912 Movado patented a revolutionary movement, designed to fit into a case that was curved to the line of the wrist.  These, seemingly small adjustments made huge differences in the look and feel of a Movado watch.

The most well-recognized watch in the line is the Museum.  It is presented with a clean, blank face, only embellished with a single dot at the 12 o’clock mark.  This watch has become an iconic symbol of modern design and was the first watch to ever be chosen as part of a permanent display at the Museum of Modern Art, in New York.

Movado’s delicate designs distinguish them from other watchmakers and that style, naturally transitioned the company into jewelry making.  With boutiques around the world, Movado offers exquisite jewelry made from 18 ct. gold, gemstones, and their patented 114 facet Movado Diamond.

Movado, literally translates into, “always in motion”, and that standard is what sets Movado apart.  I for one, believe that young entrepreneur would be proud and excited to see that his vision has been expanded beyond his own imagination.  Movado is style, design, and innovation at its best.

Tissot Watches Offer Elegance And Affordability

Tissot Watches, founded in 1853, produced the first-ever production pocket watches. Their innovation did not stop there…the luxury watchmaker has since produced beautiful designs, rich in texture and style. Among these are timepieces crafted of materials like mother-of-pearl, wood, and even rock.

Artistically, Tissot Watches excel, but pairing that with new and creative technology, really sets Tissot apart. Implementing the, first ever, T-Touch technology is a shining example of the dedication to craftsmanship that Tissot exemplifies.

Tactile touch technology, or T-Touch allows the wearer to, simply, touch the face of the watch to alter the function. This invention marks a true milestone in watch making history.

Tissot’s T-Touch watches are designed for everyone. There are sporty styles with colorful, rubber bands to classic gold, silver, and platinum creations. T-Touch series comes in both men’s and woman’s versions and with enough options to suit most any taste.

With all the accolades, you would think the prices would be out of reach, but Tissot offers watches for any pocketbook. Tissot produces nearly 2 million watches per year and offers tons of options. The T34.1.481.14 Tissot PR50 Men’s Watch is a beautiful example of their desire to offer the consumer a quality watch at a reasonable price. This watch retails for just $146.25. On the other end of the spectrum is the T71.3.445.11 Tissot T-Touch Men’s Watch. This watch is a masterpiece of design, offering T-Touch technology, with leather band and gold dial and accents. The T71.3.445.11 retails for $6,495.00.

No matter your taste or budget, it’s clear that Tissot has a watch for you. You can’t go wrong with one of these fine watches, and with so many options offered, the only problem you will encounter is choosing the one you want.

Tissot Watches-Tradition Meets Design

Tissot Watch Company celebrates its 150th birthday.  A premier Swiss watchmaker since 1853, Tissot continues with the tradition of quality that keeps them ticking.  Tissot watches are best known for their innovative styles which continue to delight us today.

I have a couple of favorite designs for men.  The Tissot Quadrato is a handsome watch with bold features.  The Quadrato is all stainless-steel, with a square dial.  I love the functionality of this watch, with day, date and chronograph design.  This watch is elegant and contemporary.  Another great choice is the Tissot Gold pocket-watch.  Tissot was the maker of the first production pocket-watch back in 1853 and the gold version continues to make a sophisticated statement today.  It has character and exudes old-world charm.

I love both of these watches.  They exemplify innovation and tradition, which is what Tissot is all about.  Keeping up with the times, while remaining true to the highest quality craftsmanship has produced long-term success.  Tissot watches continue to impress me, and their styles made of pearl, wood, even rock…show their dedication to design excellence.

Michele Watches founder pleads guilty

The founder and former owner of the Michele Watches company, a Miami-based luxury watch brand, pleaded guilty to a major tax evasion fraud. Jack Barouh allegedly had offshore accounts where he hid profits he made to avoid having to pay taxes on them.

In this particular case he was charged with putting away $10 million in an account he made with the UBS Swiss bank. Barough did not report the income he earned from those accounts and he filed a false tax return based on that information.

He is said to have “skimmed the profits” off his previous business ventures, relocating them to those offshore accounts, where he believed them to be out of the watch of the IRS. Included in those business ventures is the sale of the Michele Watches company he sold in 2004 to Fossil Inc. based in Richardson, Texas for about $50 million.

It is estimated that Barouh evaded some $736,000 between the years 2002 and 2007.

Barouh, who is now free on a $1 million bond, could face up to three years in jail. He is the seventh former UBS client to be found guilty of tax evasion.

The bank has admitted in the past that it has helped US taxpayers move their money elsewhere to avoid paying taxes. As part of a deferred prosecution agreement, UBS provided the US government with names and account identities of some of their overseas clients.

Barouh’s sentencing is set for April 16.
