Authentic Watches

Authentic watches are classics

Rolex is, arguably the most recognized luxury watchmaker in the world.  Rolex has become a symbol of wealth and success in our culture in the states, and around the world. Wearing one of these coveted watches is a sign that you have arrived, and that status is what many of us dream of.  The Rolex Presidential is worn by many company heads, and signifies to others your position.

Cartier was founded back in 1847 and has remained a premier, quality watchmaker since.  Cartier is sophistication, epitomized. Creating many diverse and beautiful designs, has served Cartier well.  The name stands for luxury and high quality, and the look of these watches is unmistakable.

These timepieces aren’t merely functional, they tell a bit of a story.  They become, very much a part of whom we are…or who we want to portray to the world.  The wrist-watch has become an extension of our personality, and an emblem or our achievements.

Authenticity can take many forms, when we are speaking of watches.  It can come in a very expensive package or in a simple brown box.  To me, authenticity means honest, steadfast, quality.  Many watchmakers today fall into that category.

The authentic watch for you has to be made well, feel and look amazing enough on you to wear everyday, and be matched with your pocket-book.  Be choosy…this is something you’ll have for quite a while.

The TAG Heuer Monaco V4 Watch is Finally Here

For those who are fans of TAG watches and all luxury watches get ready because the long awaited TAG Heuer Monaco V4 watch is here. “Five years after its initial announcement as a concept watch, TAG Heuer is proud to announce the manufacturing of 150 units of the Monaco V4 as a limited edition to celebrate TAG Heuer’s 150th anniversary.” So there you have it, directly from TAG’s official mini website dedicated exclusively to the promotion of this limited edition watch.Tag-Heuer-Monaco-V4

The Monaco V4 is the world’s first mechanical watch with a “belt-driven movement and linear winding mass.” The Monaco V4 represents something which no luxury watch company has yet to do; a complete replacement of the usual gears and pinions used in mechanical movements, instead using belt drives and ball bearings. The winding system too has seen a total make-over, replacing the typical centralized circular rotor with a linear winding mass.

The Monaco V4 brings new technical and design elements to the forefront of watchmaking. TAG Heuer employed 3D design experts, automotive engineers, chemists, mathematicians and others in the development process and while doing so, received two global patents for the Monaco V4. To give you an idea of how complex the inner workings of this watch are, take the belts used in the movement; each belt, of which there are five, are about as big as a human hair, making the integration of them seemingly impossible.

Tag Heuer-Monaco-V4These watches, all of which are cased in platinum, take their name from the shape of the movement’s central plate, which is similar to the cylinders in a car. To highlight this amazing new movement, TAG created an equally cool and innovative case that measures 39 by 48.9mm. A hand-sewn blue alligator strap compliments the blue hour hands.

There is no mention on TAG’s official site of how much the Monaco V4 is going for, although the buzz is that it is well over $80,000. With only 150 pieces, who knows how long they’ll last.

Tag Heuer Formula 1 Legend

Tag Formula 1

Tag Formula 1

Tag Heur’s Formula One, racing-inspired timepiece, is truly a designer watch made for racing enthusiasts. When originally launched, the Formula 1 was a more primitive quartz watch with blunt lines, yet still captured the attention of luxury watch and racing fans. More than 15 years later, the Formula 1 line by Tag Heuer has evolved into one of the most successful in Swiss watch-manufacturing history.

The F1 Tag is available in many styles, dial colors, and special commemorative editions. The quartz movement is available in regular and chronograph versions. The most popular dial colors are red, black and silver. The Formula one can be worn in casual and formal attire as it is available in both rubber strap and stainless steel bracelet versions.

The Tag Raikkonen edition features a Formula one dash board-inspired dial. The sub dials have 0 set at 8 O’clock like speed gauges on a racing car’s dashboard. Raikkonen, an F1 legend was brought to Tag Heuer’s head quarters in Switzerland for a special seminar that would allow him to be a Tag Heuer specialist. Alongside Tag Heuer’s talented watch-makers, the racing icon helped design the timepiece’s sleek design.

The new Tag formula 1 timepiece, released this year features designs by Fernando Alonso, a two-time Formula 1 champion. The recently launched F1 features new sub dials in the chronograph version. The seconds sub dial was moved to 9 O’ clock. Also unveiled this year are the Tag F1 Indy 500 and F1 chronometer. These new variations of the classic F1 are inspired by the Indy 500 American racing circuit and feature C.O.S.C certified movements.
