TAG Heuer, Keeping Time Fashionable

TAG Heuer Stop Watch

TAG Heuer, makers of fine luxury sport watches is celebrating their 150 years of innovation in 2010.  The tribute to these precious years…a stopwatch.  The TAG Heuer Limited Edition Vintage Stop Watch will commemorate the art of timekeeping.  With roots, deep in the fast- paced world of Formula 1 racing, TAG Heuer saw it a fitting mark of respect to release this “back to basics” stop watch.  I think so, too.  It’s simple and to the point.  The 2010 Vintage Stop Watch measures time to within 1/5th of a second, and is mechanical.  TAG Heuer has come light years since the introduction of their first chronograph, but this throw back is iconic.  You may not know this, but back in 1962 astronaut John Glenn took the Heuer stop watch into space.  Wearing the TAG Heuer Stop Watch as he piloted the Mercury-Atlas Spacecraft.  Now, this years model may not take another space voyage, but it will still measure time with twelve hour capability, and to a 1/5 second accuracy.  The dial displays the TAG Heuer logo, and is white with red markers.  This is all Swiss made, and is crafted in diamond-polished, chromium-plated brass.  Like I said, this is a limited edition model, so get yours soon!  TAG Heuer Vintage Stop Watch, don’t miss out.

Cartier, The First Lady’s Preference

Michelle Obama Loves Cartier

It is apropos that such a classic and elegant woman like Michelle Obama would be drawn to the most classic and elegant watches in the world.  Cartier seems to be the choice of the first lady, and with good reason.  Cartier has been the epitome of style for decades, and their creations don’t get any more traditional than the Tank.  Cartier’s Tank was originally introduced back in 1912.  It has seen many re-releases, but little changes. The Tank is Cartier and definitely still one of their more popular timepieces.  The first lady was photographed wearing her Cartier Tank, for her official Whitehouse portrait.  The people at Cartier couldn’t be more pleased.  Michelle Obama will certainly go down in history as a classic fashion icon, already compared to the legendary Jackie O for her style and grace.  The Cartier Tank befits such a lady.

The Cartier Tank collection comes in many styles.  The Cartier midsized Tank Solo in stainless-steel, the Tank Americaine, which is in 18 carat white gold, to other steel and 18 carat gold models.  The variety is wide and diverse, the constant is the Cartier name.  This is a fine, luxury Swiss watchmaker, which has a solid reputation.  Hey, if it’s got Michelle Obama’s attention, maybe you should take another look.

Omega, Olympic Tradition

Omega Olympic Collection, Revisits History

Since there is still a buzz in the air about the 2010 Olympic Games, I think it’s fitting to take some time and look over the Omega Olympic Collection.  Omega’s partnership with the Olympic Games goes way back, 70 years to be exact.  It seems fated that the company with the Greek originated name would end up having such a strong relationship with the Olympics.  As the Official Timekeeper to the Olympic (and Paralympic) Games, Omega’s reputation for precision and excellence has only improved.  The Olympic Collection is made up of six timepieces.  Each one replicates designs that the Swiss watchmaker has produced for the 1932-1960 Olympic Games.  The watches are all individual, but there are a few similarities.  All the hours are marked by Arabic numerals, and the Omega logo and name are displayed above the hands, in a bright red.  The seconds hand is also in this vibrant red shade.  Of course, the Olympic rings adorn the face, and the case back is inscribed with the Official Timekeeper stamp, certifying its authenticity.  The Seamaster Chronograph, Speedmaster Date, and the De Ville Co-Axial Chronograph are all Omega designs that make up the Olympic Collection, as well as the De Ville Co-Axial Chronograph Women’s watch.  Keeping time for the Olympics, and you…Omega!

Movado, New Face

Movado New Eliro Is Elegant

Movado is a famous maker of stylishly designed and Swiss engineered precision timepieces.  The Movado name is reputable and reliable.  Movado prides themselves on producing sleek creations, with clean, uninterrupted lines.  The traditional round clock face has been a Movado trademark for decades.  Today I’d like to show you a different Movado.  Of course, the same elegant style, the same exceptional quality, just in a new package.  The Eliro by Movado men’s watch is a slight deviation from the design you may be used to when you think of Movado.  This bold men’s timepiece is as handsome as it is functional.  The movement is all Swiss Quartz quality, because Movado uses only Swiss components.  Master watchmakers create these fantastic timepieces, and innovative designers bring it all together, beautifully.  The Eliro is a striking men’s version, made from strong, polished stainless-steel.  This watch features the same clean black dial that Movado is famous for.  It is completely unadorned, except for the sleek arms that mark the hours and minutes, and of course, that celebrated Movado “dot”, marking the 12 o’clock setting, and representing the rising sun.  There’s no mistaking this watch for anything but a Movado…so the difference?  Movado has cast aside the normal round dial for a curved rectangular face…same great Movado, new great look!

IWC's Portofino Line Is Impressive

IWC Schaffhausen are makers of some truly amazing mechanical timepieces.  The Swiss watchmakers have spent decades perfecting their craft.  The watches the IWC creates are really miraculous little machines, with big power.  One very elegant men’s style is the Portofino, by IWC.  The Portofino men’s’ watch spells luxury.  It has some delicate features combined with a bold, masculine size.  It is a timepiece that any man would feel lucky to own.  This IWC is a self winding chronograph, with a mechanical movement.  When the Portofino is fully wound, it has a battery reserve of 44 hours.  Like I said, the case is a large 41 mm size, yet this men’s watch has a soft and graceful feel.  The arms and hands are thin and stylish.  The Portofino Chronograph has a strong, sturdy stainless-steel case, which is accented by 18 carat gold hour markings and hands.  The IW378302 IWC men’s watch comes matched with a beautiful brown leather strap.  Very handsome combination, but if you prefer black, the Portofino has that version, as well.   The black on black is a stunning men’s timepiece.  The jet black dial is accented with a stainless-steel case, as well as hour and minute markers.  The entire IWC Portofino Series will impress you.

Discover Panerai watches.  You’ll be glad you did.  If you are a watch enthusiast or just have an appreciation for true mechanical engineering…you’re going to love Panerai.  The company has made high quality precision instruments for professional use, for decades.  They bring all that innovation to their watchmaking.  Panerai watch movements are exceptional and compare to none.  One of the watches from their Contemporary line is the Luminor Chrono Daylight 44MM.  This men’s watch by Panerai is full of style, as well as smarts.  The Chrono Daylight is all Swiss made quality, it is a true, certified Chronometer and is powered by Panerai’s automatic mechanical movement.  It has a 42 hour power reserve, a devise for anti shock, and 32 jewels.  The case is a large 44mm size, and is crafted from stainless-steel in a brushed finish.  The bezel is also in that brushed stainless-steel finish, and the crystal is an anti-reflective sapphire, with a clear backing.  This Panerai watch is water resistant to 100 meters.  All that is good stuff, and I have great respect for the craftsmen at Panerai, but what caught my attention is the style of this men’s watch.  Panerai put all that precision excellence is such a handsome package.  This Panerai watch is made in a deep teal blue.  The face and alligator leather strap match perfectly, and are in harmony with the brushed steel accents.  Panerai watches are exceptional, but in this case…the color sold me!

Tissot Watches Make A Chic Happy

Tissot Watches Happy Chic

We are all familiar with Tissot watches.  The fine quality Swiss watchmaker has been amazing us with fantastic creations for over 100 years.  Here is a peak at the T-Trend series by Tissot.  The T-Trend women’s watches are really lovely.  The Happy Chic T-Trend women’s watch is a favorite of mine.  I love the big, bold square face on this watch.  Tissot watches for women have such style and elegance, and this one in particular shows that off.  This ladies timepiece is made from highly polished stainless-steel.  The bezel and bracelet are both in this strong material.  The Happy Chic features a crystal of sapphire, and a beautiful silver dial.  The hours are marked with large Roman numerals, and the face is given a sunburst texture.  Of course, this women’s watch is all Swiss made, so quality is a given, and so is style.  Although I love the square faced Happy Chic, the version with a round dial is equally appealing.  This Tissot watch features a two-toned stainless-steel and PVD bezel and bracelet, done in hues of grey and pink.  The dial is a silver tone and has the same Happy Chic Roman numerals marking the hours.  The Happy Chic is a wonderful series from Tissot watches!
