Oris Watches Are Timeless

Oris Creates Exceptional Timepieces

Oris was founded in the charming city of Holstein in 1904, and continues to create mechanical marvels from this small Swiss town.  Oris manufactures some of the most mechanically advanced timepieces in the world from their ever-evolving factory.  At the heart of their watches lies the red rotor.  This patented piece of equipment is what allowed their watches to go from hand-winding to automatic movement, and the vibrant red color is distinctive to Oris watches.

The Oris lines include the Motor Sport, The Diver, The Aviation, and the Culture series.  Each featuring different esthetics, but all carrying the Oris reputation.  Accuracy reigns supreme for Oris and each of their lines puts that concept first.

The Oris TT3 Chronograph is a boldly handsome watch.  It is made from a multi-piece titanium case and stainless-steel bracelet, with black PVD plating.  It has a dial of black carbon fiber, and formula-one styling.  This watch is black on black and has a very masculine appeal.

One of the watches from the Divers series is the Oris Divers Titan Chronograph.  This amazing watch partners all the features required on a professional divers watch with the functionality of chronographic movement.  Its super-luminous hands are displayed on a jet black dial.  This watch is stainless-steel and titanium, with screw-in security crown, screw-in pushers, and Helium valve.  It is water resistant to, an astounding 3281 ft.

Oris has not been making watches for as long as some of the major Swiss Watchmakers, but they are not behind the times.  They put out real working pieces of machinery.  Oris watches are on the cutting edge of technology and design.  Check out one of their unique creations, today.

Discount Watches For Savvy Shoppers

Discount Watches are Quality Finds

Discount watches come in all shapes and sizes.  What Discount means is great, quality watches at reduced prices.  It doesn’t refer to, cheap.  First, let’s understand that retailers discount watches for many reasons.  It may be as simple as the fact that the watch wasn’t as popular as hoped, and there is excess inventory…or they could be trying to pass off a fake.  When purchasing a discounted watch from a third party, make sure you have a way of verifying its authenticity.  Having said that, great deals can be had online and here are a few examples.

I located the 4898 Invicta Men’s Corduba Chronograph selling for $119.00.  This bold men’s watch is one of the diver’s series and is made in all stainless-steel and durable rubber.  The dial is black and displays luminous minute and second hands.  The dial also features sub-dials and day and date calendar.  The Invicta Men’s Corduba Chronograph is water resistant to 200 meters.  Great discount watch at an 83% discount from retail.  The website this was found on offers a 30-day money back guarantee.  Not bad.

Ladies are in luck as well.  That same site offered the 96X108 Bulova Crystal Watch and Pendant set for $149.99.  Bulova is well known for their quality and style, and this woman’s watch is particularly stunning.  This discount watch is made from all stainless-steel materials, with a white dial and sparkling crystals encircling the face and making up the bracelet.  This watch is feminine and elegant, and accompanies a beautiful crystal pendant.

As I said earlier, phenomenal deals on discount watches can be found on the internet.  Just be a savvy shopper and do your research before you buy.  Happy shopping!

Tissot Watches Offer Elegance And Affordability

Tissot Watches, founded in 1853, produced the first-ever production pocket watches.  Their innovation did not stop there…the luxury watchmaker has since produced beautiful designs, rich in texture and style.  Among these are timepieces crafted of materials like mother-of-pearl, wood, and even rock.

Artistically, Tissot Watches excel, but pairing that with new and creative technology, really sets Tissot apart.  Implementing the, first ever, T-Touch technology is a shining example of the dedication to craftsmanship that Tissot exemplifies.

Tactile touch technology, or T-Touch allows the wearer to, simply, touch the face of the watch to alter the function.  This invention marks a true milestone in watch making history.

Tissot’s T-Touch watches are designed for everyone.  There are sporty styles with colorful, rubber bands to classic gold, silver, and platinum creations.  T-Touch series comes in both men’s and woman’s versions and with enough options to suit most any taste.

With all the accolades, you would think the prices would be out of reach, but Tissot offers watches for any pocketbook.  Tissot produces nearly 2 million watches per year and offers tons of options.  The T34.1.481.14 Tissot PR50 Men’s Watch is a beautiful example of their desire to offer the consumer a quality watch at a reasonable price.  This watch retails for just $146.25.  On the other end of the spectrum is the T71.3.445.11 Tissot T-Touch Men’s Watch.  This watch is a masterpiece of design, offering T-Touch technology, with leather band and gold dial and accents.  The T71.3.445.11 retails for $6,495.00.

No matter your taste or budget, it’s clear that Tissot has a watch for you.  You can’t go wrong with one of these fine watches, and with so many options offered, the only problem you will encounter is choosing the one you want.

Tissot Watches-Tradition Meets Design

Tissot Watch Company celebrates its 150th birthday.  A premier Swiss watchmaker since 1853, Tissot continues with the tradition of quality that keeps them ticking.  Tissot watches are best known for their innovative styles which continue to delight us today.

I have a couple of favorite designs for men.  The Tissot Quadrato is a handsome watch with bold features.  The Quadrato is all stainless-steel, with a square dial.  I love the functionality of this watch, with day, date and chronograph design.  This watch is elegant and contemporary.  Another great choice is the Tissot Gold pocket-watch.  Tissot was the maker of the first production pocket-watch back in 1853 and the gold version continues to make a sophisticated statement today.  It has character and exudes old-world charm.

I love both of these watches.  They exemplify innovation and tradition, which is what Tissot is all about.  Keeping up with the times, while remaining true to the highest quality craftsmanship has produced long-term success.  Tissot watches continue to impress me, and their styles made of pearl, wood, even rock…show their dedication to design excellence.

Watches are Getting Bigger as the Dollar Shrinks

Big watchesWhen it comes to watches, especially luxury watches, customers want to get what they pay for.  With the value of the dollar shrinking, many smart watch companies are making their watches bigger.  Even if it is just psychological, the average person still things bigger is better.

Take, for example, the Oris Aviation Big Crown watch.  The name says it all.  This men’s watch features a plexi-domed sapphire crystal over a stainless steel case that measures an impressive 44mm in diameter.  With a wide selection of strap and bracelet options, an automatic winding movement, and a Guilloche anti-reflective black dial, these watches are a great example of an oversized crown.

Another aptly named watch is the Concord C1 Big Date, with a case that measures 44cm in diameter.  Its exacting construction houses over 40 individual parts, including a rubber coated ring that is there to protect it from scratches.  These massive and striking men’s watches have a fluted screw-down crown that is crafted from rubber, steel and composite materials.

Lastly, from Jaeger LeCoultre comes the Master Compressor Extreme World Chronograph which, while it doesn’t have the word “Big” in its name, comes in at a hearty 46.3mm in diameter.  This is one of those watches that looks like it is made for action; with a black rubber strap, black dial, scratch resistant sapphire crystal, and water resistance up to 100 meters.

Oris Swiss Watches One Hundred Year History

Over one hundred years ago, a couple of watchmakers from Holstein, Switzerland got together and created an extraordinary timepiece. They did this by taking over a closed watch factory and turning it into the Oris watch company that we know and love today.

By the year 1921, this new watch company already had ten watch factories spread across Switzerland, and it was time to start turning their pocket watches into wristwatches. Decades later, it is easy to see that their clean, no-nonsense interpretation of the wristwatch is what has set Oris apart from other watch makers.

In the 1940’s, Oris started making clocks, which dramatically increased sales for the company, as they became a pioneer in making clocks with an 8-day power supply.

By 1965, Oris was considered one of the ten biggest watch manufacturers in all of Switzerland, and it was then that the Oris automatic movement was born. This innovation was what spawned production of the famous Oris 645 self-winding movement.

Oris continues to improve upon its designs from the 70’s, like the Chronoris, which was the company’s first foray into chronograph watches. To this day, some of the most iconic and sophisticated Swiss watches are made by this legendary company that started in Holstein Switzerland over 100 years ago.

Discount Watches: A Buyer’s Guide

Let’s face it – we all love to get a bargain – especially if it is for something that is normally out of our reach. It used to be if you wanted a luxury watch, you had to wait for the local jeweler to have a sale, but today, discount watches are available at the click of a mouse. Before you dive into the web and start Googling “discount watches”, there are a few things you should know.

• Always read the customer reviews before choosing a watch. Sometimes there is a good reason that the price is so low, and no matter how cheap it is, you still want to be happy with your decision.

• Be sure you are dealing with a reputable retailer. Many people think they are buying a genuine luxury brand watch, only to find out later that the “discount watch” they purchased is a replica. Replica watch companies should be very clear about the fact that their watches are not the real thing, but not every company will tell you that.

• Make sure the online retailer has a generous return policy. There is nothing worse than getting a great deal on a watch that doesn’t work, and then finding out on the 8th day that you only had seven days to return it.

• Before making a purchase, do a quick price comparison to make sure you are getting the best deal.

Keeping these tips in mind while you shop will ensure you get the best watch for your money, and don’t end up suffering from buyer’s remorse.

Cartier Watches I love…

Anyone who has ever swooned over the Cartier watches displayed in the boutique’s windows on Fifth Avenue will tell you – this is not an ordinary luxury watch maker. They have been the epitome of elegance in luxury timepieces ever since Louis Francois created the original “House of Cartier” in 1847. Today, they are sold throughout the world and their selection of artistically inspired designs are more appealing than ever.

Here are a few of my favorite Cartier watches:

  • The Tank Watch: Inspired by World War I, these infamous watches came about as a result of the designer’s fascination with the American tank. The resulting design is a sturdy, sharp-edged watch with sleek vertical sides and simple construction that echoes the lines of an American tank.
  • The Divan Watch: Similar to the original tank-style Cartier watches, the Divan watch was introduced to give a more futuristic look to the rectangular shaped watch.
  • The Pasha Watch: These elegant, round-faced watches were introduced in the 1940’s and had always been available only for men. It wasn’t until the 80’s that the Pasha design became wildly popular among women.

No matter how many Cartier watches you look at, it will soon become obvious how the company became known as the creator of the world’s most luxurious watches.

Men’s Watches Worn by Female Celebrities

The list is long and by now we all know that one of the biggest luxury watch trends to come out of 2009 was that of women opting for larger watches i.e.: men’s watches.

Celebrities are the ones that really drew our attention to this trend, as men’s watches were gifted to girlfriends and seen on the wrists of everyone from Rihanna to Fergie.

In addition to being a talented singer, Rihanna is a fashion icon, so everything she wears is always duly noted. In one of her top videos she wears an 18K-gold Piaget Polo watch with a 38-mm case. Due to the nature and message of the song, the watch serves a double function, exuding her independence as a woman, which I think is why a lot of women prefer men’s watches. They do, as I wear one also, give you a sense of empowerment. Anything a man can do a woman can do (better). Isn’t that a famous quote?

To accommodate this new trend, many watch brands have stopped classifying their collections as “men’s” and “women’s” but rather just go by name and size, so as not to accidently insult anyone.

Other female celebrities that love men’s watches include the Olsen twins, who even on their tiny wrists, have no qualms about wearing a Rolex Daytona , Sienna Miller goes for a Rolex as well and Fergie choose a large size Cartier Ballon Bleu (as does Usher).

They say fashion trends come and go and eventually circle back to what they were years ago. I think it’s safe to say that for now and a good while to come, the new woman’s watch is simply a man’s watch.
